When we think about people who have truly "made a difference," our attention invariably shifts to people like Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela. Their action – for love, for peace, for fundamental human rights for all people – have transformed all of us, in big ways and small.
Someone once said, "Your life is your message to the world. Make sure it's inspiring." That idea is an excellent set-up for this list of young people who are making a difference, not only in their corner of the world but across it. Here, you'll meet youngsters helping the homeless, fighting for the environment and advocating for women, children and those in need in the United States and beyond. You'll even meet Time's "Person of the Year" for 2019. (Spoiler alert: She's only 16 years old!)
The more important lesson from this piece is: What does it inspire you to do? Could you grow a garden for a soup kitchen? Can you start a backpack program for the underprivileged? Would you consider volunteering, donating, or speaking out? Read through this list of amazing young people. You'll find it hard not being inspired to become the change you wish to see in the world.
